‘RASIKA’ was an inter-generational arts-based social inclusion initiative. The project was supported by Big Lottery Fund to deliver a ten week programme of dance that engaged different cultures and supported organisations within the area culminating in a showcasing event.
The project provided ten week of workshops led by CICD’s senior and experienced dance teachers and help beneficiaries of different levels of ability to engage in a new, healthy activity that promoted cohesion and pursued as a platform for shared resources and learning between organisations and participants.
In total, ten organisations participated in a showcase sharing event, presenting what they learnt through Indian dance and music, which they hardly get an opportunity to share and meet others as part of this unique cultural platform. Youth groups of CICD studio and Belgrave Neighbourhood centre also performed in ‘RASIKA’s special platform event.
